Documentation & Readiness
- Are approved structural drawings, the mix design, and placing drawings on site? *
- Is the special inspector present and the pre-placement inspection scheduled before concrete arrives? *
- Are prior test reports (rebar mill certs, mix design approval) available? *
- Has the formwork/rebar been cleaned of ice, mud, oil, and loose scale? *
Reinforcing Steel Placement
- Do bar sizes, grades, and quantities match the structural drawings? *
- Is bar spacing within the specified tolerance? *
- Are lap splice lengths and locations correct for the bar size and class? *
- Are hooks, bends, and development lengths per the drawings? *
- Is reinforcing adequately tied and supported to prevent displacement during placement? *
Concrete Cover & Clearances
- Is minimum concrete cover maintained for the exposure condition? *
- Are chairs, bolsters, and spacers of the correct height and spacing? *
- Is clear spacing between parallel bars adequate for aggregate passage? *
Embedments & Formwork
- Are anchor bolts, embed plates, and sleeves located and secured per drawings? *
- Are conduit and pipe embedments within allowable size and spacing limits? *
- Is formwork tight, braced, and of correct dimension and grade line? *
- Are construction and control joint locations per the drawings? *
