Requirements & Substrate
- Is waterproofing (vs. dampproofing) required based on the groundwater/hydrostatic condition? *
- Is the concrete substrate cured, clean, and free of fins, voids, and honeycomb? *
- Are cove fillets and corner treatments installed at wall/footing junctions? *
- Are approved product data and details on site? *
Membrane Application
- Is the primer applied and cured per the manufacturer before membrane installation? *
- Is the membrane type (sheet/fluid-applied/bentonite) installed at the specified thickness or mil? *
- Are seams, laps, and overlaps sealed to the required width? *
- Are penetrations, tie-holes, and construction joints detailed and sealed? *
Terminations & Detailing
- Are terminations and reglets at grade and transitions properly formed? *
- Is reinforcement/detail membrane provided at inside/outside corners? *
- Are cold joints and expansion joints bridged with the specified detail? *
Drainage & Protection
- Is protection board or drainage composite installed before backfill? *
- Is a foundation/perimeter drain installed with the specified aggregate and filter fabric? *
- Is backfill placed without damaging the membrane? *
- Where specified, was a flood/water test performed on horizontal areas? *
- Photo of membrane and drainage board prior to backfill
